Students Expression of Faith in Georgia

The separation of church and state is a gray line at Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School in Georgia. After a parent expressed concern over the potentiality of a lawsuit, cheerleaders at the school were banned the use of their banners which contained verses from the Christian bible. Now, a month later, the people of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga, are expressing their support from the bleachers during football games, signs with messages such as, “Living Faith Outloud,” and “You Can’t Silence Us,” are now a common sight. This issue has caused so much controversy, that there is even a facebook group supporting the cheerleaders.

  1. Grade: 9/10
    Mistakes:
    • Missing period after Ga.
    • Were banned the use of their banners? Doesn't make sense.

    *Note: Bible should be capitalized
