NYPD Police Officer Charged with DWI

An off-duty New York Police Department detective killed a Bronx grandmother at 6:30 a.m. Friday while driving intoxicated. His blood alcohol content was over two times the legal amount. The 42-year-old police officer was charged with a DWI, vehicular homicide, and criminally negligent homicide. He is also facing a $100,000 bond.

    Mistake: Always spell out acronyms the first time you use them. DWI should be driving while intoxicated.
